IRON MOUNTAIN — Ed Williams has completed the Applied Jewelry Professional program through the Gemological Institute of America, earning his diploma, Erickson Jewelers announced.

This GIA certification provides a strong foundation in diamonds, gemstones and fine jewelry, demonstrating Williams’ commitment to learning the craft at a deeper level, Erickson Jewelers stated in a news release.

With this diploma, Williams has joined Erickson Jewelers as a part-time team member, where he will assist customers and continue developing his skills in the jewelry industry.

A longtime member of the community, Williams is a retired music teacher from Iron Mountain Public Schools and continues to work with the district part-time. His background in education, combined with his newly earned GIA credentials, gives him an ability to connect with customers, explain jewelry with clarity and help make each purchase meaningful, according to Erickson Jewelers.

“We are incredibly proud of Ed for completing this program,” Erickson Jewelers states. “Earning a diploma from GIA is a significant achievement, and we’re excited to have someone with his dedication, character and community roots as part of our team.”

Erickson Jewelers, 511 S. Stephenson Ave. in downtown Iron Mountain, offers fine jewelry, custom design and expert repair, with decades of combined experience.

Starting at $3.50/week.
