ESCANABA/MARQUETTE — Menards home improvement stores are now serving as a drop site for local food pantries in June and July.

“We’re excited to participate in this wonderful opportunity while lending a helping hand to the community,” the company stated in a news release.

Menards offers a wide variety of non-perishable food items that can be donated to the food pantries, from boxes of cereal to cans of soup that can be found in the grocery department for immediate donation.

A large collection box for donations has been placed near the exit doors.

Menards has locations at 3300 Ludington St. in Escanaba and 3445 U.S. 41 in Marquette.
