QUINNESEC — Tania Swanson, marketing manager for 41 Lumber, has been named to LBM Journal’s 2026 40 Under 40, recognizing emerging leaders who are helping shape the future of the lumber and building materials industry.

Selected from more than 150 nominations submitted from across the United States, the annual recognition highlights 40 professionals making significant contributions to their companies, communities and the industry as a whole.

Since joining 41 Lumber in September 2021, Swanson has helped bridge the gap between a century-old company and a rapidly changing marketplace, according to a news release. Her contributions have extended beyond marketing to include project management and cross-functional leadership on several of the company’s most significant initiatives.

Her work has included leading the company’s centennial marketing campaign in 2025, helping bring the Legacy documentary project to life, supporting the development of a new website, serving as project manager for the transformation of 41 Lumber’s Quinnesec flagship location, expanding digital communications efforts and creating community-focused initiatives that connect customers, employees and future generations of builders.

The recognition comes during a period of continued investment and growth for 41 Lumber, including facility improvements, expanded product offerings, digital modernization efforts and initiatives designed to strengthen connections across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

“Tania has played an important role in helping 41 Lumber evolve how we communicate with our customers, communities and industry partners,” said Carol Menghini, 41 Lumber’s chief operating officer. “Her ability to blend strategic thinking with creativity has strengthened our brand while honoring the values that have guided this company for more than 100 years. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized among the industry’s emerging leaders.”

Swanson entered the lumber and building materials industry in 2021 after a career in marketing and communications. She quickly became known for her ability to combine strategic marketing with project leadership. Her work has helped elevate 41 Lumber’s visibility while strengthening connections with customers and communities.

“I didn’t grow up in the building materials industry, and when I joined 41 Lumber in 2021, I couldn’t have imagined being recognized by a national industry publication just a few years later,” Swanson said. “What I’ve discovered is that this industry is ultimately about people, relationships and helping communities grow. I’m grateful to work alongside a team that embraces new ideas while staying true to the values that have defined 41 Lumber for more than a century. This recognition reflects the support of the entire 41 Lumber team, and I’m honored to represent them alongside such an accomplished group of professionals from across the country.”
