NORWAY -- The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Hektik Hobbies with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its family-owned hobby shop, 729 Main St. in downtown Norway.
At a time when so much entertainment happens behind a screen, Hektik Hobbies is helping people reconnect with the outdoors through the excitement of radio-controlled vehicles and a hobby that brings families and friends together, according to a chamber news release.
The shop has become a destination for RC enthusiasts throughout the region, offering a welcoming place to race, rock crawl, build custom vehicles and connect with others who share the hobby.
"We offer something for every experience level -- from Ready-to-Run (RTR) vehicles, boats and kits to batteries, replacement parts, upgrades, RC repair, 3D printing and knowledgeable advice," owner Ryan Prudhomme said. "And for younger visitors, we even carry squishies and mystery items, so there's something fun for everyone."
In addition to the store, Hektik Hobbies has been one of the vendors at Norway's Open Air Market on Thursday evenings through Aug. 13 in downtown Norway, in partnership with the Downtown Development Authority's Music in the Park summer series.
Whether a longtime RC enthusiast or simply curious about the hobby, Hektik Hobbies welcomes visitors to stop in, ask questions and discover why radio-controlled vehicles have become a passion shared by generations.
