State health statistics Friday showed a total of only 22 new confirmed COVID-19 positives in the Upper Peninsula and no new deaths.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' data site Friday added four confirmed cases each in Dickinson, Marquette and Gogebic counties; three in Houghton County; and one each in Iron, Menominee, Delta, Baraga, Ontonagon, Schoolcraft, Luce and Alger counties; Keweenaw County's count was reduced by one.
Across the U.P., the MDHHS data site Friday had Keweenaw County at 104 confirmed cases and 26 probable, and one death and one probable death; Luce County, 131 confirmed cases and 75 probable, one probable death; Schoolcraft County, 229 confirmed cases and 28 probable, four deaths and one probable; Alger County, 275 confirmed, 155 probable and one death, two probable; Mackinac County, 278 confirmed cases and 149 probable, three deaths; Ontonagon County, 344 confirmed, 51 probable and 18 deaths, one probable; Baraga County, 492 confirmed cases, 98 probable and 31 deaths; Chippewa County, 703 confirmed cases and 1,007 probable, and 20 deaths, four probable; Iron County, 857 confirmed cases and 62 probable, 39 confirmed deaths and nine probable; Gogebic County, 872 confirmed cases and 329 probable, 18 confirmed deaths and 27 probable; Menominee County, 1,598 confirmed cases, 256 probable and 34 deaths, two probable; Houghton County, 2,011 confirmed cases, 488 probable, 32 confirmed deaths and seven probable; Dickinson County, 2,108 confirmed cases and 236 probable, 55 confirmed deaths and 14 probable; Delta County, 2,622 confirmed cases and 459 probable, 63 confirmed deaths and 19 probable; and Marquette County, 3,420 confirmed cases, 489 probable and 53 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
Using only the state's figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Friday has had 16,044 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 372 deaths.
The MDHHS on Friday listed 1,379 confirmed new COVID-19 positives in Michigan for a total of 566,630. The state added 19 new deaths to reach 14,797.
For Wisconsin counties in the region, the state Department of Health Services' COVID-19 data site Friday had 24 new confirmed positives in Vilas County, six in Marinette County, four in Iron County, two in Forest County and one in Florence County.
The DHS on Friday had Marinette County with 3,927 confirmed cases, 374 probable cases and 61 deaths, two probable deaths; Vilas County, 2,009 confirmed, 110 probable and 32 deaths, two probable; Forest County, 914 confirmed, 69 probable and 22 deaths, three probable; Iron County, 487 confirmed, 112 probable and 19 deaths, 18 probable; and Florence County, 429 confirmed, 35 probable and 12 deaths. As in Michigan, state numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
Wisconsin added 1,266 new positives Friday for a total of 548,221 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date. The state posted 28 new deaths Friday to reach 5,992.
The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department did not update local numbers Friday. The DIDHD on Tuesday had Dickinson County at 2,102 confirmed positives and 238 probable cases, with 2,136 recovered, 67 deaths and 137 cases still active. For Iron County, the DIDHD had 856 confirmed cases and 64 probables, with 791 recovered, 44 deaths and 85 still active.
