The Drug Store provides vaccinations for COVID-19

IRON MOUNTAIN – On Feb. 11, The Drug Store become the first pharmacy in the area to offer COVID-19 vaccinations through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.

Since then, the pharmacy has given almost 2,000 vaccinations to help stop the spread of the virus.

Pharmacists are highly trusted and trained health care providers who have direct access to and knowledge of their patient populations. Pharmacists are trained to counsel patients, administer vaccine, and provide vaccine education, and pharmacies are readily accessible in communities — with most Americans living within 5 miles of a pharmacy.

Recognizing this, the federal government made them a key part of its COVID-19 vaccination strategy.

“We were proud to become the first pharmacy provider of the COVID vaccinations in our area”, said Steve Roell, The Drug Store owner. “We try to focus on keeping our customers healthy and preventing disease. Providing vaccinations for COVID-19, shingles, and the flu is just another tool, along with healthy eating, vitamins and supplements.”

For anyone still in need of a COVID-19 vaccination, TDS has walk-in services available during regular business hours at all three of its locations in Iron Mountain, Norway, and Crystal Falls.

Starting at $4.00/week.
