IM pushing for county-wide land bank

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain City Council is continuing its push to get the county treasurer and the county board to agree to handle tax foreclosed properties here in Dickinson County rather than letting the state continue to oversee them.
Last week, some Dickinson County properties were up for sale through the foreclosure process and anyone interested had to travel to Gaylord to bid on them.
What the Iron Mountain council is looking for is to put a county-wide land bank in place so that the properties can be purchased by local residents or the municipalities and no longer be an eyesore.
