CUPPAD to offer energy, website workshops
ESCANABA –With funding from the Regional Prosperity Initiative, the Central Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Regional Commission will offer various workshops in the coming months: Energy Efficiency Education for small business and agricultural producers and Website Building 101 for local units of government.
CUPPAD is partnering with Michigan Energy Options and Michigan State University Extension offices to host workshops around the region to educate small business owners, agricultural producers and farmers about energy efficiency and technical energy audits.
As part of these workshops, CUPPAD will look for interested participants for a 2018 REAP Grant opportunity through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where 75 percent of the cost for a technical energy audit is covered by the grant.
The schedule includes a Sept. 20 session in Iron Mountain.
CUPPAD also will offer evening workshops to local units of government and elected officials on the basics of website development and hosting, to encourage local units to create or enhance websites for residents.
The workshops will focus primarily on working with WordPress.
The schedules includes an Aug. 29 session in Iron Mountain.
More information on either workshop is available on CUPPAD’s website, www.cuppad.org, or by calling Nathan Fazer at 906-786-9234, ext. 1377.
