Alzheimer’s walk Saturday in IM
IRON MOUNTAIN — An Alzheimer’s Awareness Walk will be held Saturday in memory of Adolph “Dofo” Rossato of Vulcan and all individuals and families who battle the disease.
The one-mile and 5K walk/run will begin at 9 a.m. at Family Ties, 1238 Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain.
Proceeds from “Go For Dofo” will go to the Family Ties Alzheimer’s Support Group.
Rossato , who battled Alzheimer’s disease, was part of the 82nd Airborne, so the event is being held on Veterans Day. Event sponsors are Dickinson County Healthcare System, ManorCare and Family Ties.
Registration forms are available at DCHS (Meghan Rossato’s office), Family Ties or Manor Care (Heidi Teafoe’s office). The cost is $15 for adults or $5 for children 11 and under. You may add an extra $10 for an event shirt, although the availability of shirts is no longer guaranteed.
Registration is also available the day of the event. Bandanas will be available while supplies last.
