Police ID body as missing Iron River man
MARQUETTE — Authorities Tuesday confirmed the body found Friday morning along the Marquette shoreline is an Iron River man who was swept off Black Rocks in Marquette’s Presque Isle Park along with a companion during an Oct. 24 storm.
Witnesses said Robert Anderson, 53, and 37-year-old Sarah Hall, also of Iron River, disappeared from Black Rocks when the storm brought record-setting waves and hurricane-force winds through the area.
Hall remains missing, Marquette police said.
Anderson’s body was reported about 9 a.m. Friday police along Marquette’s Lake Superior shoreline near the Hampton Inn, about 200 yards south of the city’s Lower Harbor ore dock.
A full obituary for Anderson is on page 2-A of today’s Daily News.
