Three injured in crash in Sagola Township

IRON MOUNTAIN — Three people were injured, one critically, in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night on M-95 in Sagola Township, authorities said.

A southbound vehicle driven by a 66-year-old Channing man crossed the center line and collided with a northbound vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Ishpeming man, said Michigan State Police troopers from the Iron Mountain post.

The Ishpeming man and a 21-year-old female passenger from Republic were taken by ambulance to U.P. Health System-Marquette, where the male was listed in critical condition. The Channing man was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.

Alcohol and weather conditions are believed to be factors in the crash, which occurred at about 7:45 p.m. near the Marquette County line, troopers said. Everyone was wearing seat belts.

Assisting were the Dickinson County Sheriff Department, STAR Ambulance, Beacon Ambulance and Sagola Fire and Rescue.
