NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Historical Society recently was awarded $2,400 from the M&M Area Community Foundation’s Philanthropy Fund.

The Philanthropy Fund was created specifically to support projects throughout Marinette and Menominee counties that advance community well-being and stability including a “Pay It Forward” component to inspire charitable leadership.

In a continuing effort to strengthen its relationship with area children, the Niagara Historical Society will use its first ever Philanthropy Fund grant towards a Children’s Corner at the Niagara Museum. One of the most anticipated purchases is a pterodactyl to hang from the museum ceiling. The pterodactyl is being built by Fabricating Machining and Repair of Vulcan.

The M&M Area Community Foundation awards grants three times a year to local nonprofits, schools, churches and government entities throughout Marinette and Menominee counties. The Foundation’s mission is to inspire people to provide lasting legacies that enrich our communities.
