About 140 11th-grade students from Kingsford High School participated in a history event Monday at the Glider Museum in Iron Mountain. The students broke into groups that rotated to various stations, meeting with VA veterans and representatives of the Marines, Army and National Guard. They also participated in guided tours of the Glider and Cornish Pump museums. Jessica Tomasoski got to try on military gear at the Army station. National Guard recruiters Brian Bizeau and Katie Pinar gave Chris Trulock a chance to see armory weaponry up close as well as having a bird’s eye view from atop a Hummer.
