Kingsford awards copier bid

KINGSFORD — Cooper Office Equipment has been awarded a bid of $3,538 to provide a new digital photo copier/printer/scanner, replacing a 13-year-old unit at Kingsford City Hall.

The only other bid received by the city council came from Office Planning Group at $3,999.

In other action this week, the city council:

— Scheduled a public hearing on the 2019-20 budget for 6:45 p.m. June 3.

— Introduced Ordinance 285 to amend zoning for two areas in the city from previous public hearings by the planning commission and the council. Those changes are: an area west and adjacent to Carpenter Avenue from Hamilton Avenue to East Boulevard from O-S Office Service and B-1 Community Business to B-2 General Business; and an area north and adjacent to Breitung Avenue from Hooper Street to Balsam Street from I-1 Industrial to B-2 General Business.

— Renewed participation the “Loyal to Local” program administered by the Dickinson Area Economic Development Corporation.

— Approved the Independence Day parade route, the same as in past years, with the Menominee Range Historical Foundation sponsoring the parade.

— Approved renewing membership in the Michigan Municipal League.
