Legion’s 100th anniversary

The American Legion was recognized for 100 years of community service Monday at the Iron Mountain City Council meeting. In a resolution, Mayor Dale Alessandrini proclaimed June 22, 2019, American Legion Centennial Day. Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 in Iron Mountain has fulfilled the Legion’s mission since July 19, 1919, playing a leading role in initiatives affecting lives of everyday Americans, from the U.S. Flag Code to the G.I Bill.
