Disappearance of Florence woman marks three years

NANCY RENKAS, OF Florence, Wis., has been missing since July 18, 2016.

IRON MOUNTAIN — Law enforcement remains confident the investigation of a Florence, Wis., woman who has been missing for three years today will be resolved.

Nancy Renkas, 47, disappeared July 18, 2016. She was last seen getting into a white SUV in the Super One Foods parking lot in Iron Mountain, according to a news release from the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.

Since then, a task force of detectives from police agencies in Michigan and Wisconsin, along with FBI agents from Marquette and Green Bay, Wis., have been searching for her.

The driver of the white SUV that Renkas entered has been located and did speak with law enforcement but no longer is cooperating with investigators, the release stated.

Anyone with information about Renkas’ disappearance should contact Detective Lt. Derek Dixon of the DCSO or their local law enforcement agency.
