IRON MOUNTAIN -- A Kingsford man accused of selling drugs and imitation substances pleaded not guilty Monday in Dickinson County Circuit Court.
Daniel J. Yuhasey, 42, is charged with the delivery or manufacture of methamphetamine, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
But as a four-time habitual offender, Yuhasey could serve life in prison if convicted.
In a separate file, Yuhasey is charged with the manufacture or distribution of a controlled substance imitation, a two-year felony increased to 15 years because of the fourth offense notice.
Yuhasey waived arraignment, so was not required to appear in court. The pleas were entered on his behalf by Dickinson County Circuit Judge Christopher Ninomiya.
According to the criminal complaints, Yuhasey sold suspected methamphetamine to a confidential informant during a controlled transaction in October and November. Laboratory tests confirmed the substance sold in October was methamphetamine; the substance tested in November was not a controlled substance, according to the complaint.
A pre-trial conference is set for Aug. 5. Bond is continued.
