The United Way of Dickinson County recently raised $1,100 for the PalPaks project. A PalPak is a $4 bag filled with bottled water, crayons, a small coloring book, sticker page and a snack, intended for children who are in an emergency situation. The bags have been distributed to area emergency responder vehicles, including Michigan State Police, Kingsford Public Safety, Iron Mountain Police and Fire, Norway Police, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department and American Red Cross-Dickinson County.
