SAGOLA TOWNSHIP — A Negaunee man was airlifted to UP Health System-Marquette after a motorcycle crash Thursday on Leeman Road in Sagola Township.

Troopers responded to the crash about 5 p.m. after the man lost control on a sharp curve and struck the guard rail, according to a news release from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post.

Star Ambulance transported the man to Dickinson Memorial Hospital, where he was later airlifted to Marquette.

The man was wearing a helmet and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the release.

Troopers also were assisted by Beacon Ambulance and the Sagola Township Fire Department.
