MARSP helps update dissection equipment

Students in Jaclynn Kreider’s class at Kingsford High School begin a dissection. From left are Anna Murvich and Jessica Tomasoski.

KINGSFORD – Kingsford High School anatomy and physiology classes are provided the opportunity to learn about human organ systems through comparative anatomy dissections using organs and organisms from frogs, sheep and fetal pigs.

Hands-on dissections provide a tactile experience that enhances and deepens learning that is irreplaceable for students.

New dissection equipment was purchased through a mini-grant funded by Dickinson County’s Chapter of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.

MARSP is glad to help educators by providing these mini-grants. Opportunity to apply for the 2019-2020 school year will be made available this fall.
