Mini-grant awarded

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation, along with affiliate Norway Area Community Foundation, recently awarded a $250 mini-grant to the Dickinson-Iron Health Department to assist in purchasing a tower garden that will be shared between the Norway Head Start Center and the Kingsford Head Start Center. The garden will grow food year round and teach young children the benefits of eating healthy fresh foods. Tamara Juul, left, executive director of the Community Foundation, presents the check to Kelly Rumpf, health educator. The mission of the community foundation is to improve the quality of life for the residents of our communities, if you would like information on the mini grant program, contact Juul at 906-774-3131 or visit their website: www.dickinsonareacommunityfoundation.org.
