Motorcyclist hits deer
IRON MOUNTAIN – A 62-year-old motorcyclist escaped serious injury Friday night when he hit a deer on U.S. near Moon Lake, said state police at the Iron Mountain post.
The driver, who had been westbound, was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Immediately after the crash, an eastbound car in the same area also struck a deer. The motorist in that crash was not injured, troopers said.
Assisting were the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Iron Mountain Police, Beacon Ambulance and LR Vincent.
