IM man arrested on drug charge

OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. — A 43-year-old Iron Mountain man with two warrants for his arrest was taken into custody Monday near Abrams, Wis., according to a joint release from Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney Lisa Richards and the KIND Drug Enforcement Team.

The man, whose name is being withheld pending arraignment in Dickinson County, was stopped by the Wisconsin State Patrol at about 4:00 a.m. and later found to be in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine, the release stated.

The prosecutor’s office had recently issued the warrants against the man for the delivery of methamphetamine in Dickinson County. The charges stemmed from a several-week long investigation conducted by the KIND drug team, according to the release.

KIND officers were assisted in their investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Oconto and Marinette county sheriff’s departments and the Marinette City Police Department.
