Chamber donates to museum

The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce recently gave $1,000 to the Imagination Factory Children’s Museum’s Patronicity fund. “Thanks to our local community and all the supporters of the new Imagination Factory Children’s Museum, over $25,000 was raised and will be doubled by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation,” said Barb Reisner, Imagination Factory co-director.

Patronicity is a crowdfunding platform for public projects. Reiser said more than 125 contributors helped the project surpass the $25,000 to qualify for the matching funds under the Public Spaces Community Places program. Proceeds from the effort will be used to help build or purchase exhibits for the children’s museum at 217 Izzo-Mariucci Way in Iron Mountain.
