IM man faces charges after Lambeau incident

Ethan Lindquist

GREEN BAY, Wis. — An Iron Mountain man faces a number of charges after a drunken outburst Monday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

Ethan Lindquist, 26, is accused of attempted battery of a law enforcement officer and attempted battery of an emergency rescue worker, both felonies punishable by up to three years in prison.

Lindquist also is charged with resisting and obstructing an officer, a nine-month misdemeanor; and two counts of disorderly conduct, a 90-day penalty.

According to the criminal complaint, deputies with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office saw Lindquist arguing with a security officer about 9:45 p.m. near the 1919 Kitchen and Tap sports bar and gastropub inside Lambeau Field.

Lindquist reportedly was upset 1919 staff refused to serve him more alcohol and asked him to leave.

Deputies attempted to escort Lindquist from the premises after he had used several profanities and an obscene gesture, the complaint stated. Lindquist then reportedly ignored verbal instructions and resisted authorities when they attempted to arrest him.

After a struggle, deputies handcuffed Lindquist with the assistance of security staff and officers with the Green Bay Police Department.

Lindquist kicked at authorities as he shouted more profanities and threatened to kill the officers before they put him in a squad car, the complaint stated.

During transport to the Brown County Jail, Lindquist reportedly continued to disparage officers, calling one a vulgar insult an estimated 150 times. Lindquist also repeatedly headbutted the squad car’s plastic divider, which resulted in heavy bleeding, according to the complaint.

As he was transferred to an ambulance, Lindquist reportedly threatened to bite emergency medical responders and had to be physically restrained during transport to the Aurora BayCare Medical Center. After treatment, medical responders refused to transport Lindquist. Officers placed a helmet on Lindquist’s head for the duration of the ride.

An adjourned initial appearance is set for Nov. 26. Lindquist has been released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.
