IM market on Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain Farmers and Artisans Summer Market is winding down.

The market across from the Dickinson County Library will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday and again Oct. 19.

The public is asked to refrain from being in the market area before 8 a.m. to give vendors a chance to set up their products safely.

“Our vendors are still hanging in there for the next two weeks,” said Nancy Schaub, market manager. “There is still a lot of produce available — tomatoes, melons, beans, cucumber, zucchini, lettuce, potatoes, carrots, beets, and kale. It is pumpkin season, so there will be all shapes and sizes as well as corn stalks for decorating. There will also be fresh herbs, apples, eggs, meat, jam, local honey and maple syrup.”

In addition, locally produced crafts, art and baked goods are available. Go to http://ironmountainfarmersmarket.com for vender information.

“We are also booked at the Izzo-Mariucci Center for our indoor markets on Saturday Nov. 9, and Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon,” Schaub said.

Schaub manages the market together with the Farmers Market Executive committee under the auspices of Downtown Development Authority.

Interested farmer or artist vendors wanting to participate in the market can contact Schaub at 906-774-9223 or e-mail hsrhnschaub@att.net.
