Pickup truck rollover results in arrest in IM

IRON MOUNTAIN — One man was arrested after two pickup trucks collided Sunday night in Iron Mountain, causing one of the vehicles to roll onto its side.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 9:07 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 2 and East Hughitt Street after a 28-year-old man driving east in a pickup truck went through a stop sign, according to a news release from Iron Mountain Director of Police and Fire Services Ed Mattson.

The man’s truck then was hit broadside by a second pickup truck that was headed north, rolling the eastbound vehicle.

The 28-year-old man was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol and taken to the Dickinson County Jail, the release stated. His name will not be released until his arraignment.

The Iron Mountain Police and Fire departments were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post, Breitung Township Fire Department and Integrity Care EMS.
