‘Community Connect’ on Friday at YMCA

Free public event to offer information on community resources and support

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Dickinson County Community Connect Event team is announcing the Community Connect Event on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northern Lights YMCA, 800 Crystal Lake Blvd., Iron Mountain.

Community Connect is open to the public and offers 24 information booths that will feature valuable information for community members who are interested in learning about resources and support in Dickinson County for both individuals and families.

Services promoted at the Community Connect 2019 Event include information on: early literacy, housing, immunizations, food pantries, emergency needs, schooling, job opportunities, early childhood education, homeless shelter information and more.

Free Community Connect opportunities include: lunch, childcare, take home personal and household items and winter outerwear for children.

Organizers of the Community Connect Event are very excited about offering services, resources, support and take-home gifts to those who care about learning more about what Dickinson County, a great place to raise a family and a great place to live, can offer.

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation announces the selection of the Community Connect Event as the recipient from Jeff Smith, board trustee of the Community Foundation for the “Make My Day” grant cycle. The grant recipients are selected by board members with the intent to “make someone’s day.” The first Community Connect will be held Friday at the Northern Lights YMCA in Iron Mountain from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. An additional Community Connect will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Windsor Center in Iron River. Stop by any time between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., walk through the YMCA gymnasium and make community connections.

In Iron County, a Community Connect Event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Windsor Center in Iron River.
