IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Prosecutor Lisa M. Richards has released her department’s activity report for October.

The office received 73 police reports from the five area law enforcement agencies and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

From those reports, the office authorized 15 felony and 34 misdemeanor warrants. There were 23 warrant requests reviewed and denied and one was resubmitted to the investigating agency for further investigation.

Warrants authorized included five for domestic violence or assault offenses, 16 for alcohol offenses, eight for theft or property offenses, seven for drug offenses, 16 for traffic offenses, one for criminal sexual conduct offenses, one for carrying a concealed weapon, one for witness intimidation, one for stalking and one for a weapons offense.

The office also drafted and submitted three abuse and neglect petitions and three juvenile delinquency petitions to the probate court.

Throughout the month, the office had 26 preliminary examinations resulting in 15 defendants being bound over to the circuit court for further proceedings, 20 circuit court sentencing hearings, 18 circuit court pre-trial conferences and 19 circuit court arraignments and one jury trial.

The office also conducted numerous bench trials, motion hearings, probation violation and show cause hearings in the district, probate and circuit courts.
