Two men injured in ATV crash in Iron Mountain

IRON MOUNTAIN — Two men have serious injuries after an ATV four-wheeler crashed Sunday afternoon in Iron Mountain.

The accident was reported about 1:57 p.m. near the intersection of South Foster and West E Street, according to a news release from Edwin Mattson, director of the city’s Police and Fire Services.

The crash was caused when a snowplow attached to the ATV made contact with the pavement, causing the ATV to flip forward, throwing both occupants headfirst onto the pavement, according to the news release.

The men, both in their 30s, were not wearing helmets. They were taken to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

No names were released. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, the release stated.
