WAUCEDAH TOWNSHIP — The names of a Tipler, Wis., couple that died in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on U.S. 2 near Alfredson Road in Waucedah Township have been made available.

Killed were George J. Marciulionis, 56, and Janet A. Yacovelli, 59. Both owned and operated Tipler Bar and Grill from 2006 until they retired in 2019, according to their obituaries listed on page 3-A.

The crash happened about 2:41 p.m. Thursday when a westbound 2013 Chevrolet Equinox crossed the center line on U.S. 2 and collided head-on with a 2017 GMC Sierra towing an enclosed snowmobile trailer, according to a news release from Dickinson County Sheriff Scott Rutter.

Marciulionis, the driver of the Equinox, and Yacovelli both were pronounced dead at the crash site.

The two occupants of the Sierra, from Suamico, Wis., were being treated at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the news release.

Speed and road conditions appear to have caused the accident, which remains under investigation, according to the news release.
