One dead, one injured in Menominee County crash
POWERS — Authorities have released the names of the Menominee County men involved in a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash Sunday near Powers.
Warren Larson, 78, of Wilson, was the driver pronounced dead at the crash site, according to the Michigan State Police, Gladstone Post.
The injured driver of the second vehicle was James Gorzinski, 65, of Powers.
The crash happened about 7:27 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 2/41 just east of Powers. Troopers said an investigation indicated Larson was driving eastbound when he crossed the center line and collided with Gorzinski’s westbound pickup truck.
Gorzinski was taken to OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital and Medical Group for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash, troopers said.
