City councils to hold electronic meetings tonight

Iron Mountain City Council will meet at 6 p.m. today.

The meeting will be held electronically due to COVID-19 precautions. Instructions for participating are posted at www.cityofironmountain.com under “Electronic City Council Meeting.”

If you don’t have a smart phone or computer to access the meeting via Zoom, you can participate on the phone, by calling 1-312-626-6799 and entering meeting ID 731-974-4809.

The agenda includes a discussion on closing public recreation and gathering areas; an addendum to the city’s Family and Medical Leave Act to provide the ability for an employee to leave work and care for a minor child; extending the temporary closure of City Hall; and appointments to the Downtown Development Authority.

Kingsford City Council will meet electronically at 6:30 p.m. today. New business in Kingsford includes an application for a home occupation permit for a dog grooming business at 532 Wymore Ave; adoption of family medical leave for a public health emergency; and a hearing on an application to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development for a patrol vehicle grant.

Norway City Council will meet electronically at 7 p.m. today. Felch Township Board will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Felch Township Community Center. The

meeting is open to the public, but strict social distancing must be observed.

“When you walk into the community center building there will be hand sanitizer, rubber gloves and masks for you to use if you should desire,” township officials said.

All persons must keep a distance of at least six feet from each other at all times. The board will be meeting in the common area of the center rather than the board room.
