What’s on the ballot for Wisconsin counties in the region

Judicial races for courts in Florence, Forest and Marinette counties will highlight local elections Tuesday.

In Marinette County, two candidates will vie to replace Circuit Court Branch 1 Judge David Miron, who is stepping down. They are attorney Mike Perry of Peshtigo and Jane M. Sequin of Marinette, the current Marinette County court commissioner and register in probate.

The other local court race is for circuit court judge in Florence and Forest counties, where incumbent Judge Leon Stenz is challenged by Crandon attorney Robert A. Kennedy Jr.

County board seats also will be decided Tuesday but just two local races are contested.

In Marinette County’s District 1 in the city of Niagara, incumbent Supervisor Gilbert Engel is challenged by Roger Allen. In Florence County’s District 3, which includes parts of Aurora and Commonwealth, incumbent Supervisor Holly Wahlstrom Stratton is opposed by Cynthia L. Nichols.
