KINGSFORD — There were no injuries Saturday after a grass fire on the 400 block of Riverhills Road in Kingsford.

Officers responded to the fire at 3:26 a.m., when a caller warned the blaze was spreading up a hill and nearing a residence, according to a release from Kingsford Public Safety.

KPS extinguished the fire before any damage was done to the home. About one acre of land was burned, the release stated.

Officers returned to the station at 4:11 p.m.

KPS reminds residents the burning of debris, such as leaves and pine needles, is not permitted.
