Niagara man accused of selling methamphetamine

IRON MOUNTAIN — A Niagara, Wis., man accused of the sale and possession of methamphetamine pleaded not guilty Monday in Dickinson County Circuit Court.

Jacob Nelund, 25, is charged in three separate files with a total of two counts of the delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison; and possession of a controlled substance, a 10-year felony.

Nelund waived arraignment and was not required to appear in court in person. Dickinson County Circuit Judge Christopher Ninomiya entered the not guilty pleas on Nelund’s behalf.

According to the criminal complaints, Nelund reportedly sold 1/2 gram of methamphetamine to a confidential informant during a controlled transaction Jan. 6 and Jan. 8 in Iron Mountain.

Nelund was arrested April 19 by Kingsford Public Safety for outstanding warrants. Officers reportedly found methamphetamine in his vehicle during a search, according to one complaint.

A pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 15. Bonds are set at combined total of $20,000 cash, surety or 10%.
