Man arrested after truck hits home

NORWAY — A man has been arrested on suspicion of operating while impaired after the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a house in Norway late Tuesday.

A 2011 white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was northbound on U.S. 8 about 10:07 p.m. when it went off the road and struck the home at 228 Brown St., according to the Norway Police Department.

The driver was taken to Dickinson County Healthcare System for treatment of minor injuries, then arrested after being released from the hospital, police Chief James Shafer II said.

The driver’s name was not released.

No one inside the home was injured, Shafer said. The name of the owner of the home was not available.

Norway Police were assisted by Norway Fire, North Alert Ambulance and Integrity Ambulance.
