PESHTIGO, Wis. — Starting Monday through Aug. 10, Marinette County highway crews will be working on chip seal projects on County Trunk Highway O and OO.

Travelers can expect traffic delays.

Motorists are also reminded these are construction zones that will have fresh oil and loose gravel. There will be a temporary 35 mph speed limit posted Monday through Aug. 10.

In an effort to protect Marinette County highway department workers, motorists, and area residents, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol may enforce the 35 mph speed limit on CTH O and OO.

The 35 mph speed limit is a necessity for the safety of persons and property, officials said. Without speed restrictions, the economic longevity and immediate structural stability of the chip seal could be compromised.
