IRON MOUNTAIN — A 39-year-old Dickinson County man died as the result of a motorcycle crash Monday night on U.S. 2 near the intersection of County Highway NN in the town of Florence, Florence County Sheriff Dan Miller said.

The accident was reported at 7:17 p.m. The man first was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain and then to a Green Bay hospital, where he later died, Miller said.

Assisting the sheriff’s office were the Florence Volunteer Fire Department, Florence Rescue Squad, and Integrity EMS.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
