One man killed in rollover crash in Marinette County
MARINETTE, Wis. — A 36-year-old farm worker from Mexico was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Saturday in the town of Beaver, said Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve.
The victim, Bernardo Diaz, was apparently eastbound on East 6th Road when his vehicle left the road, crashed through a power pole, and rolled over, the sheriff said. The accident was reported by a passerby at about 4:30 a.m.
Diaz, the lone occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation, Sauve said. Diaz had been living in Beaver and working on a nearby farm.
Assisting were the Coleman Rescue Squad and Pound Fire Department.
This is the third traffic fatality in Marinette County in 2020, Sauve said.
