Local health officials Monday reported a dozen new confirmed COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County over the weekend and six more cases in Iron County but no new deaths.
As of Monday morning, Dickinson County also had 112 new recovered cases and Iron County 39 recoveries, according to the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department.
The DIDHD on Monday listed Dickinson County at 1,934 confirmed positives and 166 probable cases, with 1,470 recovered, 61 deaths and 569 cases still active.
The figures for Iron County's total confirmed positives, however, did not appear to have been changed from Friday's update, even through the DIDHD stated six new cases in its posting on Facebook. The site still showed 745 confirmed cases and 45 probables; the numbers were altered to move recoveries up to 645 and still-active cases down to 111 cases, along with 34 deaths.
Across the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' coronavirus data site added 69 new confirmed positives in the region since Saturday: 24 in Marquette County; 10 in Dickinson and Chippewa counties; eight in Delta County; six in Menominee County; four in Iron County; three in Houghton County; two in Baraga County; and one each in Alger, Ontonagon, Schoolcraft and Mackinac counties; the state also reduced Gogebic County's count by two. Menominee, Delta, Marquette and Houghton counties each had a single new death.
In total for the U.P., the data site Monday had Keweenaw County at 62 confirmed cases and 15 probable, and one death and one probable death; Luce County, 125 confirmed cases and 61 probable; Alger County, 186 confirmed, 96 probable and one death, one probable; Schoolcraft County, 196 confirmed cases and 16 probable, three deaths and one probable; Mackinac County, 253 confirmed cases and 110 probable, two deaths; Ontonagon County, 274 confirmed, 29 probable and 14 deaths, one probable; Baraga County, 447 confirmed cases, 93 probable and 28 deaths; Chippewa County, 504 confirmed cases and 713 probable, and 10 deaths, two probable; Gogebic County, 699 confirmed cases and 289 probable, 13 confirmed deaths and 20 probable deaths; Iron County, 750 confirmed cases and 42 probable, 32 confirmed deaths and five probable; Menominee County, 1,387 confirmed cases, 202 probable and 23 deaths; Houghton County, 1,550 confirmed cases, 380 probable, 21 confirmed deaths and seven probable; Dickinson County, 1,930 confirmed cases and 165 probable, 53 confirmed deaths and 11 probable; Delta County, 2,437 confirmed cases and 399 probable, 57 confirmed deaths and 17 probable; and Marquette County, 3,057 confirmed cases, 390 probable and 49 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
Using only the state's figures, the Upper Peninsula has had 13,857 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date and 307 deaths.
The MDHHS on Monday reported 4,551 confirmed new COVID-19 cases in Michigan since Saturday for a total of 463,403 to date. The state added 71 new deaths since Saturday to reach 11,532.
For Wisconsin counties in the region, the state's COVID-19 data site Monday showed 14 confirmed new positives in Marinette County, five in Vilas County, three in Forest County and one in Florence County.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Monday had Marinette County with 3,438 confirmed cases, 309 probable cases and 39 deaths; Vilas County, 1,512 confirmed, 59 probable and 21 deaths, two probable deaths; Forest County, 803 confirmed, 58 probable and 21 deaths, two probable; Iron County, 406 confirmed, 101 probable and 10 deaths, 10 probable; and Florence County, 389 confirmed, 22 probable and 12 deaths. As with the Michigan data, the state numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
Wisconsin added 1,435 new positives Monday for a total of 458,612 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The state recorded eight deaths Monday to reach 4,425.
