Local health officials Monday reported 27 new COVID-19 positives and two new virus-related deaths in Dickinson County, along with five new confirmed cases in Iron County.
Dickinson County also had 118 people considered recovered from the virus and Iron County 21 since the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department last updated its figures Friday.
The DIDHD on Monday listed Dickinson County at 1,878 confirmed positives and 146 probable cases, with 1,211 recovered, 59 deaths and 754 cases still active. Iron County has had 737 confirmed cases and 44 probables, with 571 recovered, 34 deaths and 176 cases still active, according to the DIDHD.
Across the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' coronavirus data site Monday had 81 new confirmed positives over the two-day period since its last report Saturday: 22 in Marquette County, 18 in Delta County, 17 in Dickinson County, nine in Houghton County, seven in Chippewa County, six in Gogebic County, four in Iron and Menominee counties, and one each in Ontonagon and Mackinac counties; Baraga County's count was reduced by eight. The state recorded two new deaths in Marquette County and one new death in Dickinson County.
In total for the U.P., the MDHHS on Monday had Keweenaw County at 67 confirmed cases and 15 probable, and one death and one probable death; Luce County, 122 confirmed cases and 60 probable; Alger County, 177 confirmed, 90 probable and one death, one probable; Schoolcraft County, 188 confirmed cases and 15 probable, two deaths and one probable; Mackinac County, 246 confirmed cases and 105 probable, one death; Ontonagon County, 271 confirmed, 28 probable and 14 deaths, one probable; Baraga County, 452 confirmed cases, 91 probable and 26 deaths; Chippewa County, 461 confirmed cases and 636 probable, and eight deaths, two probable; Gogebic County, 680 confirmed cases and 277 probable, 12 confirmed deaths and 15 probable deaths; Iron County, 735 confirmed cases and 42 probable, 32 confirmed deaths and five probable; Menominee County, 1,327 confirmed cases, 178 probable and 22 deaths; Houghton County, 1,487 confirmed cases, 364 probable, 14 confirmed deaths and three probable; Dickinson County, 1,875 confirmed cases and 144 probable, 51 confirmed deaths and 11 probable; Delta County, 2,394 confirmed cases and 374 probable, 53 confirmed deaths and 13 probable; and Marquette County, 2,964 confirmed cases, 358 probable and 44 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
Using only the state's figures Monday, the Upper Peninsula has had 13,446 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date and 281 deaths.
The MDHHS on Monday reported 7,205 confirmed new COVID-19 cases in Michigan since Saturday for a total of 437,985 to date. The state added 90 new deaths since Saturday to reach 10,752.
For Wisconsin counties in the region, the state's COVID-19 data site on Monday showed 20 new cases in Marinette County, seven in Vilas County and two in Florence County; Forest County's count was reduced by one.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Monday had Marinette County with 3,291 3,311 confirmed cases, 290 probable cases and 36 deaths; Vilas County, 1,436 confirmed, 43 probable and 19 deaths, two probable deaths; Forest County, 781 confirmed, 54 probable and 20 deaths, two probable; Iron County, 398 confirmed, 79 probable and 10 deaths, six probable; and Florence County, 379 confirmed, 24 probable and 12 deaths. As with the Michigan data, the state numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
Wisconsin added 2,122 new positives Monday for a total of 438,895 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The state added 12 deaths Monday to reach 4,068.
