BTB passes resolution to honor Cook

QUINNESEC — The Breitung Township Board passed Monday a resolution honoring Dickinson County Clerk-Register of Deeds Dolly Cook.

Cook, who has served more than three decades in the position, announced in early February her intent to retire effective Feb. 28.

“I think it would only be fitting that the township do a resolution wishing her well and thanking her for years of service to all the citizens of Dickinson County,” Board Supervisor Denny Olson said.

The resolution passed unanimously.

In other business, the board:

— Extended poverty exemptions for property taxes. Those exempt from tax collection in 2019-2020 will remain exempt in tax years 2021-2023 without reapplying, provided there has not been a change in ownership or occupancy status.
