Florence man accused of kidnapping, sexual assault

ANDREW SEIBOLD

CRYSTAL FALLS — A Florence, Wis., man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl has been bound over to Dickinson County Circuit Court.

Andrew Seibold, 25, was bound over for trial last Tuesday after Iron County Trial Judge Donald Powell found cause to advance the case following a preliminary examination.

Seibold is charged with kidnapping, a felony punishable by up to life in prison; unlawful imprisonment, a 15-year felony; two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, injury to incapacitated victim, a 15-year felony; two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct during a felony, a 15-year penalty; second-degree criminal sexual conduct, personal injury, a 15-year felony; and criminal sexual conduct, second-degree assault, a five-year felony.

According to the criminal complaint, Seibold reportedly kidnapped, restrained and assaulted the girl Aug. 14.

The charges originate in Dickinson County, though Powell was appointed to preside over the probable cause conference and preliminary examination by the State Court Administrator’s Office due to a conflict of interest identified by Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney Lisa Richards, Special Prosecutor Jeffrey T. Rogg told The Daily News.

Seibold is the son of Greg Seibold, a defense attorney employed by the Iron Mountain court system.

Rogg, prosecuting attorney in Menominee County, also was appointed by the administrator’s office.

A date for Seibold’s arraignment has not been set. Seibold posted a $55,000 cash bond.
