3 injured in Iron Mountain crash
IRON MOUNTAIN — Three people were injured Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Ridgeview in Iron Mountain.
First responders were called to the crash at 4:16 p.m. after a westbound SUV driven by a 38-year-old Escanaba woman attempted to turn left at the intersection and drove into the path of an eastbound vehicle, according to a news release from Iron Mountain Director of Police and Fire Services Edwin Mattson.
The Escanaba driver, her 16-year-old passenger and the eastbound driver, a 54-year-old Vulcan woman, were taken to the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, the release stated.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged and had to be towed.
The Escanaba driver was cited for failing to yield right of way.
Iron Mountain police and firefighters were assisted by the Michigan State Police, Integrity Care EMS and Edwards Chevrolet Towing.
