National Night Out event on Tuesday

Free community activities in Aurora

AURORA, Wis. — The local National Night Out program will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College’s Woodland Regional Learning Center in Aurora.

Everyone in the Dickinson County area, including Florence County and northern Marinette County, is invited to attend.

There will be emergency vehicle displays, K-9 demonstrations, fire safety house, information booths, children’s games, a bouncy house, face painting, food and a chance to register for prizes.

There will also be emergency vehicles on display, a helicopter landing, tractor rides and other activities.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make communities safer. The event takes place in all 50 states and U.S. military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday of August.

This year’s local event is financially supported in part by a grant awarded to the Niagara Police Department from the M&M Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee and a mini-grant from the Dickinson County Community Foundation.

This is a free family event sponsored by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Dickinson County law enforcement, Niagara Police Department, Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Florence County Chamber and the local National Night Out Committee.
