Wisconsin reports new COVID death in Florence County

Local health officials Thursday reported two new confirmed COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County and one new case in Iron County in the past week.

The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department’s Facebook post Thursday morning also added one probable case in Dickinson County and reclassified six more residents as recovered from the virus since its last update July 1.

The DIDHD had Dickinson County at 2,423 confirmed positives and 346 probable cases, with 2,682 recovered, 72 deaths and 15 cases still active. For Iron County, the agency had 990 confirmed cases and 71 probables, with 1,008 recovered, 50 deaths and three active cases.

The DIDHD in June cut back to only one COVID-19 update a week as the pace of local coronavirus activity continues to slow.

In Wisconsin, state data Thursday showed a new coronavirus-related death in Florence County along with two new confirmed positives.

For the five Wisconsin counties in the region, the state Department of Health Services’ COVID-19 data site Thursday also listed three new confirmed cases in Vilas County and two in Iron County, while Marinette County’s count was reduced by two.
