PLEASANT HILL, Ore. — A 34-year-old man accused in Dickinson County of holding a woman hostage in January was arrested Monday in Pleasant Hill, Ore., in connection with the murder and assault of an Oregon couple.

Lane County jail records show Andrew Geronimi, formerly of Kingsford, is charged with second-degree murder, a felony punishable by up to life in prison; and first-degree assault and first-degree burglary, both 20-year felonies.

Geronimi is accused of fatally shooting Caelen Bosisto and wounding Staton Bosisto, according to television station KEZI 9 News, an ABC affiliate outside of Portland, Ore.

Caelen Bosisto was fatally shot in the chest inside their home Monday morning, KEZI 9 reported. Staton Bosisto was shot in the head but survived; his current condition is unknown.

Deputies were called to the Bosisto residence before 7 a.m. on a report someone had been shot, KEZI 9 stated.

The couple’s 2-month-old son was in the home but uninjured.

Deputies found Geronimi carrying a gun and hiding in bushes outside the Bosisto home, KEZI 9 reported. After a brief standoff, Geronimi was arrested.

Geronimi was accused in Dickinson County of holding a woman hostage in January and charged with unlawful imprisonment, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison; assault with a dangerous weapon, a four-year felony; and two counts of assaulting, resisting or obstructing an officer, a two-year felony.

According to the criminal complaint, Norway Police officers were dispatched via 911 when Geronimi, armed with two knives, would not let a woman leave her residence Jan. 19.

In an earlier news release, the NPD stated officers attempted to talk with Geronimi — who was unnamed at the time — but he refused to negotiate or comply with commands.

The Critical Incident Response Team arrived and also attempted to negotiate with Geronimi, finally subduing him with non-lethal shotgun rounds after he continued to refuse, the release stated.

The woman was uninjured, according to the release.

Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney Lisa Richards told The Daily News her office authorized a felony warrant the day after the incident.

Geronimi’s bond was set at $15,000 cash, surety or 10% by 95-B District Chief Judge Julie LaCost. Geronimi waived his preliminary examination Feb. 9 and was bound over to the 41st Circuit Court.

Richards said paperwork from the Dickinson County Jail showed Geronimi bonded out March 18.

Geronimi attended a number of pre-trial conferences by phone due to the coronavirus pandemic, though a memorandum filed April 19 showed he was not staying in contact with his defense attorney, Richards said.

When he failed to appear by Zoom for a May 17 pre-trial conference, 41st Circuit Chief Judge Mary Barglind issued a lodge-only bench warrant for his arrest, Richards said.
