Fair continues with Youth Day, market livestock competition

NORWAY -- The youth market livestock show highlights today's events at the 111th annual Dickinson County Fair at the fairgrounds in Norway.

Spectators can catch the youth livestock show -- which will include beef, swine, sheep and goats -- starting at noon today. Bingo, which has been moved to the new office building, will run from 1 to 10 p.m. The exhibition building will be open from 1 to 10 p.m.

Tonight's grandstand event will be the Demolition Derby starting at 8 p.m.

Carry-ins will be restricted during the fair in the grandstand area.

The Skerbeck Carnival opens at 1 p.m. and continues until the fair closes. Daily ride armbands are $25 each day at the gate.

Admission to the fair is $5 a day or $15 for the week. Ages 5 and younger are admitted free. All grandstand shows are free.

Today, Youth Day

7 a.m. to noon: All youth and open dairy entries

8:30 a.m.: Judging

10 a.m.: Tractor Pull

Noon: Draft horse show

Noon: Youth market livestock show (beef, swine, sheep and goats)

1 to 10 p.m.: Exhibition building open

1 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Bingo

1 p.m. to close: Carnival opens, bracelet day

2, 4, 6 p.m.: Lumberjack Show

8 p.m.: Demolition Derby

Saturday, Agriculture Day

8:30 a.m.: Poultry and rabbit judging

9 a.m.: Open horse show

10 a.m.: Pony Pull with the Open Draft Horse Pulls to follow

11 a.m.: Dairy judging

11 a.m. to close: Carnival opens

11 a.m. to close: Exhibition building open

Noon to 6 p.m.: Paula D (Wally Bouchey Pavilion)

1 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Bingo

1 p.m.: Horseshoe tournament, singles and doubles

2, 4, 6 p.m.: Lumberjack Show

4 p.m.: Youth livestock auction in the covered arena with market buyer's appreciation dinner to follow

6 to 11 p.m.: Free music concert featuring Heart to Heartbreaker and K Blitz

Sunday, Race Day

9 a.m.: Youth horse show
