NORWAY -- Two people were injured Saturday in a collision at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Section Street in Norway.
Norway police were called to the crash at 3:33 p.m., when a 91-year-old Vulcan man driving a pickup truck attempted to turn onto Section Street, striking a 46-year-old Iron Mountain man driving a motorcycle, according to a news release from Norway Police Chief Jim Shafer.
The Vulcan man then left the scene, Shafer stated.
The Iron Mountain man and his passenger, a 42-year-old Iron Mountain woman, were transported to the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Vulcan man was later located with the assistance of family members and cited for failure to yield, Shafer stated.
A report was forwarded to the Dickinson County Prosecutor's Office for review regarding charges for leaving the scene of the crash.
Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, Shafer told The Daily News.
Norway police were assisted by troopers with the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post and Integrity Care EMS.
